Perpetoo, the platform that gives you the possibility to hire out your car, aims at 3000 listed vehicles in their first year

The first peer-to-peer car sharing service in Romania, Perpetoo, intends to bring on 3000 cars on their platform and to intermediate about 25,000 rentals in their first year in the business.

In Romania, there are approximately 500,000 registered cars, which are not older than 10 years, and most of them are parked for 95% of the time.

Available in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași and Timișoara, Perpetoo is for those who want to hire out their cars, and those who want to drive them for a minimum period of 3 hours and a maximum one of 30 days.

In the first month of activity, about 50 cars were listed on perpetoo.com, and the interactions between Drivers and Owners were irreproachable: there were no incidents or damage to the rented cars. The representatives of Perpetoo estimate however that, in only a few months from its launch, the average income from rentals will be 300 euros, being influenced nevertheless by the renting rates, which are determined by car owners, and by the offered promotions.

The car owners benefit from a CASCO insurance throughout the rental period, which is offered by UNIQA Asigurări and Renomia SRBA Insurance Broker, so that they are protected in case of damage.

The Romanians have many cars, but most of them are not used. On the other hand, given my experience as an entrepreneur in the tourism industry, I realized that the current rental services do not always offer the flexibility which tourists need when they look for transport options locally, both in terms of costs and conditions. So the idea of a platform which brings together those who do not use their cars and those who want to travel by car came up naturally, and Perpetoo began to take shape shortly after. The cars may be listed and hired exclusively online, through the platform www.perpetoo.com, where users need to sign up for an account in the dedicated category, Owner and Driver, respectively. There is no charge for setting up accounts and using the platform, and only the rental and insurance fees are paid by those who want to hire a car.

The cars listed on the platform must have at most 8+1 seats, must not be older than 10 years, must have the technical inspection, RCA and ITP up-to-date, a valid vignette and must be properly equipped. Moreover, Perpetoo has other advantages to offer, such as the flexibility of the rental period and less red tape due to the possibility to fill in the documents automatically and directly in the application. Therefore, when the car owner and the person hiring the car meet for handing over the vehicle, the rental process will have been already completed, and the only step left is to inspect the condition of the car and hand in the car papers together with a set of keys.
